ScottsMiracle-Gro Associates Run, Walk, and Crawl for a Good Cause

Health and Wellness

In just one day, more than 300 ScottsMiracle-Gro associates raised over $7,000 for the American Heart Association (AHA) and its important fight against cardiovascular disease and stroke. To show their support of the AHA, associates walked 1,000 laps, which equated to 500 miles, for the first annual AHA Run/Walk/Crawl Fundraiser event held at the ScottsMiracle-Gro headquarters in Marysville, Ohio.

CEO Jim Hagedorn kicked off the event by recognizing and thanking associates for their long- standing support of the local AHA chapter and the Central Ohio Heart Walk, taking place on August 23, 2014 in Columbus, Ohio.

ScottsMiracle-Gro will continue to fundraise for the Central Ohio Heart Walk through partnerships with vendors, raffles and ongoing fundraising events and communications. Ivan Smith, Executive Vice President and General Counsel, ScottsMiracle-Gro, is an AHA board member and chair of the 2014 Central Ohio Heart Walk. Smith's goal for the ScottsMiracle-Gro Heart Walk team is to raise $150,000 and recruit 500 associates to support this leading wellness event in Central Ohio.

ScottsMiracle-Gro's support of the American Heart Association is part of the company's larger commitment to health and wellness initiatives as part of its "Give Back To Gro" philanthropic mission.
